Optum Health Services (Canada) Ltd.
Optum Health Services (Canada) Ltd., headquartered in Burnaby, BC, prides ourselves on our heritage. We started in British Columbia in 1977 as Interlock Employee and Family Assistance. In May 2008, Interlock was significantly strengthened by joining PPC Worldwide, the longest standing continuous EFAP provider in the world. Established in 1975, PPC Worldwide has been focused on behavioural health consultancy for more than 38 years. Our EFAP business covers 10 million lives in 140 countries around the globe. In April 2014, all of the PPC Worldwide segments officially rebranded under the name Optum, a world-wide leader in behavioural and clinical health support, and one of North America’s largest health and wellness companies.
Solely focused on health and well-being, Optum solutions include employee and family assistance programs (EFAP), work/life and wellness and personal development services to support employers. We remain firmly committed to bringing innovative solutions to the health and wellness needs of our commercial employer clients, the people they serve, as well as to the local health systems. Optum promotes a very proactive approach to employee wellbeing and engagement, and encourages early access of our EAP program when employees find themselves in the midst of one of life’s many challenges and milestone events.
Optum’s unique EAP Behavioural Health Model is a lifestyle toolkit, targeting the 60%+ of employees who are going through one of life’s everyday events, such as marriage, buying a house, or returning to work, rather than just the 10% who are reacting to a crisis (the traditional focus of EAPs). By encouraging early engagement with our programs, we position ourselves as a life support mechanism, versus a counselling service. We provide impactful coaching that allows individuals to develop effective coping and goal setting skills, as well as a strategy for moving forward in a productive way, both at work and at home. All of these components build resiliency, which in turn drives engagement, productivity and innovation in the workplace.
Optum aims to be the world’s leading Employee Assistance and Wellbeing Services innovator and our mission is to optimize health and wellbeing to benefit the individual and organization. We strive for clinical and business practice excellence. At the heart of this is the desire to assist your employees to be more effective and live rewarding lives. This in turn leads to organizational excellence. Optum continuously acts with honesty, integrity, and respect for all individuals. We conduct our business in a fair and open partnership with both staff and clients.
Our Values: We serve people through a value and performance culture based on integrity, relationships, compassion and innovation. Quality is a relentless focus of our organization. The best way we can satisfy the many people we serve– our customers and members, employees, shareholders and partners– is to execute on the fundamentals of our business to the very best of our abilities, each and every day. As a Canadian organization, we offer a truly remarkable management team, and a service delivery team that is closely managed and focused on providing the best support to you and your employees.
