The Provider Advocate is your liaison and window into Optum
Provider Advociates (formerly Network Managers) are here to help you with Optum. Specifically the Provider Advocate team designs and implements programs to build and nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers, practice managers and care advocates.
Duties of a Provider Advocate include:
- Support recruitment
- Act as a liaison between you and various Optum teams to resolve issues
- Look for opportunities to improve the processes and direct quality assurance initiatives
- Lead outreach efforts to inform of significant industry or Optum-specific changes
- Train providers and develop external provider education programs
